Land and Spirit is a series of performances by the Seeing Trails Division of Fine Art, activating the area of Southeastern Utah surrounding Green River. The driving forces behind Land and Spirit lie in exploration: the act of bridging the known with the unknown. The explorer uses knowledge and land to discover new truth. Seeing Trails is a Los Angeles based hiking and wilderness club founded by Butchy Fuego in 2013. At its core, the group is comprised of working artists and musicians. Participating members include Eugene Ahn, Chase Bingham, Jeremiah Chiu, Greg Colebourn, Jonah Fernandez Olson, and George Jensen.
Doppler at High Noon places the viewer/listener at the axis of a musical composition. A score moves two performers towards a sonic center, creating a perceptual shift in frequency and volume to the aural landscape.
Past on Present is a party where the guests are being entertained simultaneously from the past and the present.
Frame Trail is a self-guided hike in which participants navigate competing notions of personal and collective experience while exploring a trail and engaging with installations.
Sites: Airport Road (Doppler at High Noon), Utah Launch Complex (Past on Present), and Blue Castle (Frame Trail)

High Desert Test Sites heads to Green River, Utah for our next “big” event, HDTS: Epicenter.
Following the epic HDTS 2013 event, which took us on the road to Albuquerque, New Mexico, we are turning our focus in 2015 to the communities and contemporary art programs in rural Utah. For our next event we will be partnering with Epicenter, a Green River-based organization founded in 2009 by a group of architectural designers, in the spirit of Samuel Mockbee’s visionary Rural Studio. We are inspired by the energy and vision at Epicenter, and by the ways in which they provide resources to local residents through active involvement in their intimate community.
HDTS: Epicenter is a collaborative curation of artists’ projects, along with many regional points of interest and programs in diverse locations in and around the rural Utah community of Green River. Participating artists include:
