Road Sign, Air Pocket

Along the roadway leading into Joshua Tree National Park are four brown road signs reading RECREATION INFO TUNE RADIO TO 1610 AM. A large broadcast reaches throughout the valley providing various park details and travel information. Another 20 miles down the road, a modified replica of the original sign was implanted, followed immediately by a very small radio transmitter broadcasting a recreation of the information provided in the original broadcast. When driving at the speed limit, the broadcast can be heard for approximately 2 seconds.
