Meditation Chamber for Revolution, Peace, and Personal Transformation
Inspired by Joshua Tree and places like the Institute for Mentalphysics and the Integratron, Carolyn Castaño’s Wagon Station was conceived as a personal escape chamber for meditation, transcendence, and revolutionary thought. Part space age capsule and part futuristic cabin, the Meditation Chamber is a place where one can escape the pressures of everyday life, be alone to think, read, draw, or sleep. A place where quiet allows for revolutionary thought, both personal and on a grander social scale.
The inside of the Wagon Station is furnished with accoutrements to aid in the transcendental experience, such as an air mattress, flokati rug, crystals and a CD player with mellow 70’s music. The person using the wagon station will also find a flyer inside describing the wagon station and inviting them to read quotes by famous thinkers. The outside of the Wagon Station is painted in enamel in a geometric design.
