Melissa Brown created a series of ‘wanted’ broadsides describing the participating artists’ projects in the vernacular of law enforcement posters. The flyers were installed in the desert landscape at High Desert Test Sites and at rest stops along road to, and then within, Socrates Sculpture Park. This project evoked the gun-slinging wild west, created a commentary on the out-law practice of art-making and drew a parallel between contemporary artists and America’s lawless pioneers.
