Artist Painted Rock Auction

The Artist Painted Rock Auction was a silent auction of artist-painted rocks, inspired by Scott and Tyson Reeder’s project, General Store Rocks (originally featured in Amy and Wendy Yao’s Art Swap Meet at HDTS 2004), as well as the annual gem and mineral shows in Quartzsite, Arizona.

Bid on original “painted rocks” by some of our favorite artists and collaborators, and support HDTS. All proceeds from this two-part event went towards HDTS programing and operating expenses including HDTS 2020, opening the weekend of April 18th!

Bidders could view the rocks and bid for their favorites on an online store. All of the rocks were on display at our space in the Backlot of Frieze Los Angeles at Paramount Pictures from February 13-16, 2020. The auction began on Sunday, February 9th at 11:00 am PST and closed on Sunday, February 16th at 6:00pm PST.
